What I Offer

What I can bring to a production

DSO HEADSHOTS 057_edited.jpg

For The Producer

I present a time and cost-effective commodity on and off set. For productions that have a multitude of off-camera dialogue I can be brought in as an alternative to rearranging actor's schedules, time constraints or travel obligations. In addition, this will allow the script supervisors to focus on their main tasks of continuity and camera shots. The other advantage while on set is that i am readily available to rehearse , run dialogue and help actors memorize their lines, consequently, shaving time off production days by helping the actor be completely prepared.

For The Actor

For the actor, what I offer is really contingent on what the individual actor requires. I am available for running lines on and off set, rehearsing and/or incorporating new line changes for memorization and feeding off-camera dialogue. Depending on the actor's personal training choices, I am available to rehearse the full lines of the other characters, deliver the cue lines flat, or if convenient and requested, read them with enough emotion so the actor can work out their own timing. What has also proven itself to be helpful is the sensitivity and availability I provide for the actor. Examples would include staying close to set for rehearsal time in between takes; running lines before production starts; rehearsing dialogue for auditions; the ability to perform the dialogue in a way that allows the actor to make their own acting choices without being dictated by me; and for the non-actor guest performers I can help them not only learn their lines but can help them give a believable performance.

For the Director &
Script Supervisor

For directors, what I provide is an aide to the everyday working production by being of service to the script supervisor, working with the actors on and off set, and offering a time effective solution for any off-camera dialogue that may arise.

The assistance I offer the script supervisor is to carry the weight of off-camera dialogue, rehearse with the actors and deliver any new line changes or scenes that may suddenly arise, letting the script supervisor focus on their main priorities of continuity, camera shots and over all detail required of their job.

Bio

Marci Michelle grew up surrounded by the stage and screen. Her grandmother, Charlotte Peters, starred in a variety show from 1947 to 1969 and was dubbed the First Woman of St. Louis Television. Her father, Mike Peters, is a Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist and creator of the comic strip, Mother Goose & Grimm. Sunday afternoons were regularly devoted to black and white movies and she claims "The Women" as one of her favorite films.

After graduating from Ringling School of Art & Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Marci found her way to CA by way of a family friend and immediately fell back in love with being on set and all of the processes of filmmaking. Starting out as a background actor and stand-in, she quickly became a member of the SAG Union and fittingly her first SAG job was on the movie "Looney Toons: Back In Action" which was endearing to her as the late cartoonist Chuck Jones had been her father's mentor.

Marci has worked on a variety of productions including "Touch", "Forsaken", "Shameless", and the pilot episode of "Southland".

In May 2014, Marci travelled to London to film her 7th season on the television show "24" as the series was coming to completion with its 8th season. This was one of the most rewarding and educational experiences of her time in the entertainment business.

Working with dozens of actors and learning their different techniques of preparation equipped her with an arsenal of experiential knowledge and a deep appreciation and love for the craft. She likens the experience of film making with that of fine art as it is all about the process. And since this processual idea drew Marci initially to a degree in art, it was only natural that she found a home in the film industry for the last decade.

After spending time with Marci, it is apparent that her warm and energetic demeanor sums up her positive outlook on life. These attributes combined with her love of the theatrical process ensures a naturally productive working environment with actors.

Kiefer Sutherland

Actor/Producer

"The work I did on "24" over the last several years would not have been possible without the off-camera dialogue dedication I got from Marci. I cannot emphasize enough how lucky you would be to work with her."

Jon Cassar

Producer/Director

"In the ever changing world of producing a television series you need every advantage you can get in making today's ambitious shooting schedules.

On the Fox show "24" the intricate nature of the storytelling meant the script was always changing and improving making it a daily challenge to track and learn.

Marci was a valuable asset to

production on both these fronts working with the actors and the script assistant."

Mary Lynn Rajskub

Actor/Comedian

"Marci has a great

personality, she cares about

people and about the work.

She found ways to help me when I didn't even know I needed it. Anything from running lines to helping with script logic questions.

By the end of the run, we

all relied on her expertise

and compassionate, fun spirit."

Craig West

Unit Production

Manager

"Marci has the rare quality of getting things done without stepping on anyone's toes.

Professional script, character and dialogue understanding make her a very useful person to have on the set. As a 25 year DGA member and the UPM on "24," I was impressed how she helped the set run smoothly with prepared actors and excellent off camera work

when necessary. She saves the production time and helps root out problems before they occur. She is good!"

James Morrison

Actor

"I wouldn't have survived working on "24" as long as I did without Marci's insight, work ethic, sense of humor, calming energy,

professionalism and unconditional help and support. She is a gift to all she attends. Besides the money I

was making, she's the reason I didn't walk long before they killed me off."

Sprague Grayden

Actor

"On a show like "24", where much of the action takes place off camera, Marci's talent and 100%

commitment was an

invaluable resource

informing my performance and all on camera work."

Anne Melville

Script Supervisor

"As Script Supervisor on "21", I found Marci to be of invaluable

assistance. We did an unusual number of phone calls, which requires someone to do the off camera reading. Marci

rehearsed the dialog with the actors and read the off camera parts, which helped them tremendously. Having Marci read off camera allowed me to

pay proper attention to camera shots, matching and correct dialog. She was a great asset to our show."

Paula Hunziker

Director

Script Supervisor

"As a Script Supervisor for 15 years I have been in many situations that I wish I had an

off camera dialogue reader permanently onset to

assist me during takes. Script

Supervisors are required to pay full attention to all details during a shot and to be reading off camera takes your attention away from the detail of continuity. For 7 seasons on

"24" Marci was a much welcomed addition to our crew and a breath of fresh air to my job that usually has no time to spare."

Richard Rosser

Ist Assistant Director

"Marci has been an

indispensable asset during

" seasons of "24." She is detail oriented and has

worked with numerous actors, running lines off set and reading off camera dialogue with feeling-during scenes. Marci became Kiefer Sutherland's go to dialogue consultant for help with his trademark rapid fire delivery of techno infused dialogue. She has a great sense of humor and a delightful disposition that helps create a comfortable working environment for actors and crew alike."
